About the Working for Opportunities Trust (WfO)
Introduction
We are based in Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, and began as a project within a managed unit of SCOPE, with funding from the Staff Charity Fund of Zurich Financial Services. We became an independent charity (no. 1081885) in 2002 with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
Our mission
Our mission is to:
- enable disabled people into real employment locally by taking a practical approach, and
- create real and sustainable employment opportunities.
Our main activities are:
- providing a Register of disabled people seeking employment and matching them with vacancies notified by Forum members and other agencies, and
- changing attitudes through Disability Equality Training for commercial and voluntary organisations and disabled people themselves.
